About
Karbon Art Studio was established by Wanda Cavanagh to introduce artwork formed with multiple media: metal, paint, and clay. She creates her wearable metal objects through traditional metalsmithing techniques of granulation, 24K gold-over-silver fusion, lost wax casting, and forging. She blends these techniques with unfinished or hammered natural gemstones to create unique jewelry with understated elegance and sophistication.
Wanda grew up in the heart of beautiful Poland and has traveled to over 30 countries, absorbing influences from European and Asian history, architecture, and art.
Wanda attended graduate school in literature at Silesian and Warsaw Universities. After living one year in Italy and six years in Canada, she moved to the US, graduating from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. After contributing to creative teams in the corporate world, she turned her focus toward jewelry design and metal forming. Her metalsmithing mentors gained their skills largely from the School of Design in Pforzheim, Germany.
Wanda’s artisan jewelry is meant to be both unique and inspirational. She welcomes custom orders for pieces or sizes that you desire. Please contact her with any questions.
Wanda says, "Welcome to my studio! I am thrilled that we share similar aesthetics."
